No Magic Buttons

Creating quality content and developing a reader base is tantamount to successful blog marketing. This coupled with well thought out linking strategies and RSS marketing will eventually bring in tons of traffic.

Unfortunately there is no Magic Button to push to build lots of quick traffic and that is where people get misguided when they start out.

To break it down in a simple list.

  • Create quality original content updated frequently.

  • Post your RSS feed where ever possible.
  • Seek out other bloggers that compliment your blog and trade links
  • Post relative comments on other blogs and link back to supporting content on your site.
  • Visit forums on your blog topic and provide relevant articles and feed back and put your blog in your signature.

  • Directory submissions do not bring much traffic but they do bring in the spiders which help with SEO

  • Become active in communities like HubPages and reference your content if justified.

Relying on one traffic source or advertising method for your blog is putting all your eggs in one basket. If you build a reader base blog promotion becomes viral and the mundane task necessary to bring in visitors dissipates.

Thank you for writing this article! Getting much-needed traffic to your blog could really take hard work. I like how you wrote them on here one by one. I've learned a few things. Great hub!

    • Threat of Suit (Again) and Jail (WTF!!)

As many of my readers here know I do not take well to threats of suit.  The newest one also alluded to possible jail!! (%#!#)  I did an article a while back about an attorney’s website.  What prompted me to do this article is after a phone call with Billy Reid Zeh III.  I contacted [...] - 18 months ago

I know it has been a while since I have updated the blog here and I apologize to those who are interested in what we have going on.  The last year has been very crazy.  My business has gone from 3 employees to 15 and I have been very busy with that and now that [...] - 20 months ago

    • Vegas Trip Recap – Drivingsales Executive Summit

I returned from Las Vegas after 5 days of work and travel.  It is hard for me to believe that Las Vegas and work are even in the same sentence for me.  It was four days of meetings with other activities interspersed.  The reason for the trip was to participate in the Drivingsales Executive Summit [...] - 2 years ago

    • The delicate balance

As I am finishing the last few things needed for my trip to Las Vegas, for business, other things keep popping up that do not relate to the trip.  Questions from employees, family issues and of course the request for me to grab certain things while there.  Due to the way my business works and [...] - 2 years ago

    • Another Gift – Asperger’s Syndrome

Our family was delivered another gift yesterday.  We learned that our seven year old son has Asperger’s Syndrome.  As a family we have been perplexed by his behavior and this diagnosis explained it all.  Asperger’s is a form of Autism.  As a parent it was a shock, more so than when our four year old [...] - 2 years ago

    • Persistence – Is it worth it?

To many times in our lives we are faced with some very mundane things.  In business starting a new enterprise can be an exhilarating experience but at the same time there is a period that Seth Godin coined as “The Dip” , that is where the grunt work takes place.   It is point where labors [...] - 2 years ago

    • Some things just aint so…

I may have been overly vocal about certain things in the past.  One thing that kind of set me back was when an automotive SEO consultant accused me of “defaming” him when I pointed out in an automotive seo post that some of the things he was claiming were false and misleading and I still [...] - 3 years ago

    • The Next Step – My New Office

My business has grown beyond the point of being able to manage it from my home office. So I have rented my new space. I have eight employees with 6 being local so it was an overdue need. I will slowly start the transition over the next few days and be fully [...] - 3 years ago
